San Antonio town receives SGLG 2018 award

San Antonio, Zambales - The Municipal Government of San Antonio town led by Municipal Mayor Estela D. Antipolo on Wednesday received the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) 2018 award from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in formal ceremonies held at the Tent City, Manila Hotel.

The award, also dubbed as “Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal”, aims to continuously influence good governance in local government units (LGUs) across the country.

The said SGLG award was the second time in two straight years for San Antonio town under the strict progressive leadership of Mayor Estela Deloso Antipolo.

The 2018 SGLG was awarded to San Antonio town in recognition of their efforts in passing all of the seven components of the award: Financial Administration,  Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and Order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management and Tourism, Culture and the Arts.

The SGLG to make more prominent the vital role of local governments in helping execute national government thrusts and commitments through continuing governance reform and sustained local development.

It is a progressive assessment system of the DILG to grant distinction to notable local government performance.
